Dump duty calls

Does it feel like you’re outside picking up after your dog all the time?  It’s a fact of dog ownership:  Every dog poops.  And let’s face it, that shit adds up fast.

Your dog may make his mark, but you can clean up without leaving a trace by using earth-friendly biodegradable poop bags.  Here are two of our favorites:

• Greenbone™ Biodegradable Waste Bags: Made from naturally renewable cornstarch, these bags hold up strong for some of the toughest jobs, but decompose quickly when you’re done.

• Scoopies® Oxo-Biodegradable Mitt-Shaped Bags: Perfect for cold winter climates where it’s too cold to take off your gloves.  These bags completely disappear from the environment in about 18 months.

With seven healthy dogs in the office, let’s just say these bags withstood some pretty intense testing.  They work.

Oh, and have you ever been stuck on a walk without a bag when your dog answers nature’s call?  Yeah, that’s the worst.  Here are two ways to keep poop bags handy wherever you go:

• Alite™ Boa Pod: Ultra lightweight and attaches securely to any leash. Includes a separate stash pocket for keys, treats or other small items.

• D-Fa Dogs Gandhi Lead: This soft nylon leash features a built-in pouch for easy poop bag storage.

Full of crap: a poop bag story

Poop bags: the unglamorous part of owning a dog. How many times a day does your dog go? Once? Twice? Three times (a lady)?

Needless to say, dog owners go through an enormous amount of poop bags. That’s why it was incredibly important to us to find the best biodegradable bag out there. Because while you’re doing your part by picking up, you don’t want to fill up our landfills with plastic bags, either. That’s just crappy.

So we did a little research - and a lot of testing – and found a brand of poop bags that is 100% biodegradable, made with a renewable, natural plant-based material.  These bags stay strong enough to pick up the, um, largest jobs, but break down safely without any damage to our planet.

Like all of the products we feature on Domestic Beast, we’re proud to say that these bags are handpicked and personally tested by our team. These bags are the shit. And they work.

Which bags did we find?  Stay tuned…
